Here's an inexpensive and super easy craft that can be made to match your wedding colors!
Estimated cost per item: Approx $0.15 cents each
Estimated time: 1.5-2 hours
(Estimates are based on a 100-guest wedding)
Step 1: Submerge the Doilies
Fill the dish with just enough water to submerge the doilies in. Add in the food coloring and mix.
The amount of food coloring and soaking time depends on the shade of color you want (the more food coloring, the darker the color; the longer soaking time, the richer color).
Place one doily at a time in the water and make sure it is covered entirely in water.
Let it soak in the water for anywhere from 1-5 minutes.
I do not suggest leaving it in the water for any more than 5 minutes. Too long will cause the paper to get too soggy and tear when you are taking it out.
Step 2: Dry the Doilies
Pat the doily dry in between paper towels.
Let dry for about 15 minutes or until the doily is COMPLETELY dry! And that is it!
The fun part is then deciding where you are going to use your super simple doilies. String them from rafters, glue them to a cardstock backing and make table numbers, string them to make a backdrop for an alter, turn them into signs for a buffet, and more. The options are literally endless!
these dyed doilies and tie em up with pretty ribbon!
